What is the CAptain's Mate application, how does it work?

According to the introduction of Cruising Association, CAptain's Mate is a Sports app on the Android platform. There is currently a 2.0.3 version released on Sep 07, 2017, you can see the details below.

This application gives Cruising Association members access to the CA’s huge database of cruising reports and allows them to share information, experiences and opinions on destinations they reach in their boats. To use it you must be a Cruising Association member with a MyCA account.

The Cruising Association is Britain's leading organisation for cruising sailors. With more than 4000 members across the globe, we provide services, information, help and advice worldwide. Founded in 1908 to meet the needs of cruising sailors, the CA has been a home to many of the great names in sailing. It publishes an almanac which covers the whole of the British Isles and Atlantic seaboard of Europe and has local representatives all over the world.

"Find My Friend" has been updated to allow background location updates, you will no longer need to keep the app open to update your location if you enable this feature within settings. We have also added the ability to send a message to other FMF users, like background updates this must be enabled within settings.
